Cash For Clunkers: ObamaCare Preview

Most of us would not buy a car without taking it for a test drive. One of the purposes of driving before buying is to get a feel for the vehicle and to see if it fits you. It would be a huge risk to make such a large purchase without knowing how it runs, if you will be comfortable in it and so on.

Unfortunately, most of us don't have a way to test run government health care. That is unless you have had the pleasure of having been treated in a VA hospital or had to wait for Medicare to determine if it is going to pay for the medicine you need.

If you are caught up in the idea that this legislation means free health care for everyone and haven't really thought about how the government operates something, here is a little preview of what to expect...

Popularity, Web Snafus Nearly Broke 'Clunkers'

Cash for clunkers started out with the intention of getting people to buy new cars, jolt the economy and save the auto industry. As is the case with any government intervention, a plan is initiated and no thought process beyond that is delivered.

The Prescription For Disaster

No matter what your position is on health care, this is too big to ram through without anyone reading the bill. We should all, especially those of us that pay taxes, have the chance to read, understand and know what it is that is going to be done to us. Now, more than ever, it is time to do your homework. Here are a few articles to ponder...

Beware of Comprehensive Health Care Reform

NYPost: Rx For Disaster

Forbes: Rationing Health Care

Stossel: Arrogance

The Congressional Budget Office: By the end of the 10-year period, in 2019, the coverage provisions would add $202 billion to the federal deficit, CBO and JCT estimate. That increase would be partially offset by net cost savings of $50 billion and additional revenues of $86 billion, resulting in a net increase in the deficit of an estimated $65 billion.

The Fall Of The Republic

Alexander Fraser Tytler, lawyer and writer, is credited (although it is undocumented) with the following:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:
From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.

Sources:
"Alexander Fraser Tytler." Wikipedia: The Free Encyclopedia. 03 July2009. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Fraser_Tytler. Under Creative Commons License.

The founding fathers studied this and feared it. The reason that The United States was set up as a republic and not a democracy is because they were attempting to break this cycle. They knew that if people could vote themselves entitlements, they most certainly would.

The Republic has outlasted the Tytler Cycle, so far. The problem is that the country has shifted backward, rather than moved forward. Unfortunately, many do not understand this, as they really have not been students of history.

If you think about what is going on right now with regards to the shift to an entitlement society, the case can certainly be made that we are at the "From apathy to dependence" stage of the cycle. Voters are voting for promises of stuff they want (i.e. health care), therefore allowing the government to grow and take over more aspects of their lives.

If they do not wake up and see what is happening, it will not be long before they move back into the bondage stage our forefathers fought so hard to escape.

Properly Displaying The American Flag

The Pledge of Allegiance
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God,indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
----
As the 4th of July approaches, we should reflect on why this day is so important. It is not just a day of picnics and fireworks. It is a day to thank and remember the Patriots and the sacrifices they made to give us freedom. Not only should you display your American flag proudly, you should take the time to learn how to do so correctly.

Yet Another Broken Campaign Promise On The Horizon?

We have seen one campaign promise be broken after another. Recent events from the past few days may be indicative of another one that is coming. Throughout the campaign, then Senator Obama promised that no one making under $250,000 a year would see an increase in taxes. Many voters believed this and voted based on it. Apparently, the administration is realizing that their health care reform proposals would actually raise taxes on the very people they promised it would not. Although they haven't come right out and said that they would be raising taxes, they are not denying it either...

Transcript from June 29, 2009 White House Press Briefing:

Q Robert, I just wanted to ask about health care. Yesterday on ABC, David Axelrod was asked repeatedly about whether the President would veto any health reform bill that has a tax on people making -- a tax increase on anybody making under $250,000 per year. So I want to give you a chance, as well. (Laughter.) Will the President veto -- will the President veto any health bill that has a tax --
MR. GIBBS: We should get David down here. You know, here's what -- I think we get this question once a week, in some form or another. I think in many ways, Ed, what marks the difference between this health care effort and other health care efforts in the past is exactly what the President described -- a very large table with people sitting at it, trying to solve a problem that we've been working on for 40 years.
The good news is we're making significant progress, and all those people are still sitting at the table. We haven't drawn a lot of bright lines. We understand there's some flexibility on the part of Congress to work through some of these policy issues. And we're going to allow that process to continue to make -- that process to continue in order to make progress.
Q That may be true, but the President on the campaign said that -- he made a flat pledge that he would not raise taxes on anybody making under $250,000. So is that pledge still operable?
MR. GIBBS: Well, again, I think in some ways your question is hypothetical because there are any number of different bills, different proposals. I think the President has outlined what he believes is the very best way to pay for health care.
Q It doesn't have to be hypothetical. He made a pledge --
MR. GIBBS: I understand.
Q -- he said, I am not going to raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000. Is that pledge still active?
MR. GIBBS: We are going to let the process work its way through.
Q So it's not.
Q So it's not.
Q So it's not. (Laughter.)
MR. GIBBS: We're going to let the process work its way through. All right?
You have that awfully perplexed look on your face, Mr. Garrett.
Q Well, what would be the reason for reversing among the most conspicuous, if not the most conspicuous, campaign promise that this candidate Obama repeated everywhere across the country?
MR. GIBBS: Well, I appreciate the indulgence to get into these hypothetical questions months before we're likely to do that. It is rich to watch the fact that we're making so little progress on health care reform that you've asked me if the President is going to sign the bill that's not at his desk. Let's --
Q We didn't ask you about signing the bill --
MR. GIBBS: No, no --
Q And there's nothing hypothetical about reaffirming a campaign promise.
MR. GIBBS: It is in the sense that we're not facing any sort of decision on this. We're letting Congress work many of these issues through. And we're making progress.
Q But, historically, administrations that make such conspicuous promises tell Congress, you can do this, this, and this, but don't go there because it's not something we're going to do.
MR. GIBBS: And I think the President in his principles and in the $948 billion to finance health care reform has laid out pretty clearly what his financing mechanism would be. Which --
Q Then why not take the opportunity provided by Ed to reassure the American public that the campaign promise still stands?
MR. GIBBS: -- any increase in revenue would affect top wage-earners' charitable deductions, returning them to the rates of the Regan administration.
-----
Q Robert, so going back to this tax pledge thing, whether you've made a campaign -- the campaign promise and whether you've now opened the door on this. Is it fair to interpret that you've opened the door? Because this is what you said in April: "I would restate what he said in the campaign, and that is he won't raise taxes on people that make above $250,000 a year."
MR. GIBBS: I think the President --
Q So is that statement no longer effective?
MR. GIBBS: I would -- I love playing -- I love us playing out Wimbledon without the benefit of a grass tennis court, but we're going to let Congress do its job. We're going to have the President do his job. We're going to make progress on health care reform. And I think you'll see a reform bill come to his desk later this year, and one that he will sign.
Q So you just don't want to be -- it's fair to say he is not allowing himself to be boxed in by a campaign promise?
MR. GIBBS: It's fair to say -- it's fair to say that we're watching Congress do their job.

Senior Obama Advisor David Axelrod on ABC this Sunday:

STEPHANOPOULOS: ... with that, especially on health care, excuse me, is figuring out where the revenues are going to come from. And, you know, a lot of talk about taxes in the House and the Senate as well.
And I want to show our viewers something the president said during the campaign back in September.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
OBAMA: I can make a firm pledge: Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase, not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
STEPHANOPOULOS: Not any of your taxes, a firm pledge. Does that mean the president will veto any health care bill that includes a tax increase on people earning less than $250,000 a year?
AXELROD: Well, first of all, George, let's make a few points. The president has said whatever is done has to not add to the deficit. So that's one of the prerequisites for this bill. We've got issue with our budget. Everybody is aware that we don't want to add to our deficit.
So this is going to have to be paid for. Two-thirds of the expenses -- two-thirds of the expense of it under the president's plan and proposal would be done by transferring money within the health care system from Medicare on wasteful spending, giveaways to insurance and drug companies, and so on.
And so we're talking about the final third. He has proposed a plan that would be in keeping with the promise that he made, to cap deductions for the wealthiest Americans on their taxes.
He still believes that's the way to go. And he has made a strong case to the House and the Senate on it.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But he also said this week he was open to compromise on this. And as you know, the Senate is looking especially at this issue of capping the deductions for health care that employers and employees now get. That would get -- would be a tax increase for many families earning under $250,000.
But the president said he was open to it. So that means that the tax pledge he made back in September is no longer operative?
AXELROD: Well, George, first of all, there are a lot of different formulations of that plan. The president had said in the past that he doesn't believe taxing health care benefits at any level is necessarily the best way to go here. He still believes that.
But there are a number of formulations and we'll wait and see. The important thing at this point is to keep the process moving, to keep people at the table, to the keep the discussions going.
We've gotten a long way down the road and we want to finish that journey.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But if you're open to tax increases for people under $250,000, that means that the pledge he made last September in Dover is no longer operative. AXELROD: George, I think the president has made clear the way he feels this should be funded. And certainly is consistent with what he said during...
STEPHANOPOULOS: But he's not drawing a line in the sand.
AXELROD: ... the campaign.
STEPHANOPOULOS: He said that.

Is this another "read my lips" situation? Its starting to look like it.

Klo your argument is old and we are all aware of the liberal playbook you stole it from. The answer to everything is not “well, we gotta do something” and then rush legislation through as fast as you can in the middle of the night (or on a Friday nonetheless). Anyone with any common sense would realize that we need to research things before we just implement them. The same champion of this legislation to save the World, has a monthly electric bill 3xs the average annual bill in Tennessee and flies around in the least fuel efficient private jet in its class. I also noticed that he hasn’t painted his roof white yet either.

The suppression of any information by the EPA should be labeled as a criminal act. All the facts should have been put on the table. Congress should have time to read the bill. We should all have a chance to know what it is. And what it is…a massive tax on whatever the government deems it needs to tax. This isn’t about saving the planet. It is about the government taking control of yet, another aspect of our lives.

If you think for one second that every business that sees an increase in taxes from carbon dioxide emissions isn’t going to pass that increase onto consumers…you are sadly misguided. Just read your utility bill and you will see that.

Getting Caught With Their Hands In The Health Care Cookie Jar

If it were a television show, American politics would most likely fall under the classification of daytime soap opera. It would be a stretch of the truth and a distance from reality. Unfortunately, it is often unbelievable but actually real.

It should come as no surprise that the corruption in Washington is running rampant right now. This happens when politicians are under the false premise of not having accountability and living without checks and balances. Fortunately, the people tend to shift towards a rebellion against this and vote those clowns out.

The Associated Press has identified that there are Senators with their hands in the health care cookie jar (see link below). In 2010, voters will have the chance to slap those hands.

Suggestion To The GOP

Today's GOP survey...

19. I would like Republicans to better lead on domestic policy by...

The answer:
Standing united and standing up for core principles. For years, Republicans have played into the hands of democratic strategies. Instead of being on the offensive, Republicans are constantly forced to be on the defensive. The playbook of the left is clear and there needs to be a new plan to counter it. Great defenses don't win championships by being on the field more than their offense. It is time for Republicans to brand themselves and stop allowing the left to do it for them.

Although this doesn't directly answer the question, it summarizes what the objective should be.

Nothings Ever Free

Nothings Ever Free

Today, on The Mike Church Show (Sirius Patriot Ch. 144), Mike Church asked how a company can be in business if they are giving their products away for free? There is a simple answer...nothing is ever free. That is particularly true when the government gets involved.

Mike was talking about the commercials on television for The SCOOTER Store...

Mike Church was wondering how a company can make money if it is giving its products away for free. The ad claims that you can get a scooter for free. As with anything labeled "free", there is a catch. First, Medicare or your insurance or a combination of both will be hounded to provide a scooter for you. The SCOOTER Store guarantees that even if those methods to obtain a free chair for you don't work, they will provide you with one at no charge. They say that "With 96% of our claims approved by Medicare" that the odds are in favor of someone else picking up the tab. (The SCOOTER Store Guaranteed Freedom Program)

In other words, you don't just get a free scooter. Someone, somewhere is going to pay for it. It is kind of like the majority of voters in the last election thinking that they were getting free health care for all after falling for a misleading commercial.

The left has been pushing the health care agenda for years. Typically, liberal leaning thinkers are suckered by their emotions. Everyone should have health care and you would be pretty evil to think someone should not. Rationally though, you have to ask yourself how that is going to work. One thing Democrats failed to mention during the election was exactly how that was going to be paid for.

Sure, they demonized wealthy people and businesses. Joe Biden also said that it was time for rich people to "be patriotic". The speculation from Republicans was who exactly was going to fall under the classification as rich. Originally, candidates Obama and Biden picked the income level of $250k or more. Several times though, that number fluctuated drastically.

As the AP is reporting, Democrats have come out of hiding on who these rich people will be. It looks like anyone that can afford health benefits may actually be "rich"...

AP Sources: House Dems consider taxing benefits By DAVID ESPO

The Washington Post: President Pivots on Taxing Benefits By Ceci Connolly

According to the above AP article, those with health benefits may be looking at being taxed on those benefits. This was something that President Obama relentlessly attacked Senator McCain as looking to do. Something that Obama labeled as being done for the first time ever. The reality was that McCain's plan was misrepresented and actually put more money in the pockets of insurance payers.

On top of Democrats looking to tax your benefits for the first time ever as income, it looks like they will force everyone into the government plan...

AP sources: House Dems favor insurance requirement

So, it holds true that Nothings Ever Free...

Commentary: Can U.S. afford trillion more in debt?

Recent elections have shown that Europe is moving away from socialized medicine, while The U.S. is moving towards it. Americans have shifted from the rationalization of freedom and choice to the emotions of free and fair. The balance of power has changed and the next election cycle may very well decide if we go down a path we may never be able to recover from.

Ron Paul's HR1207

Ron Paul has been laughed at for his outlandish ideas. He has been shrugged off as crazy. His claims have been scoffed at and the subject of jokes.

But, was Ron Paul actually right?

You can certainly make the argument that his "predictions" have come to fruition. He is a Constitutionalist and believes the Federal Government has too much control, has grown too big and is infringing on the rights granted to us by our founding fathers.

Now, he has introduced HR 1207. HR 1207 is a bill that would make the Federal Reserve more transparent. His claim is that the Fed is responsible for the current economic crisis. The Fed has manipulated the currency, meddled in interest rates and distributed money to places no one seems to be able to account for. Ron Paul has wanted to abolish the Federal Reserve and this just might be the beginning.

Support is growing for HR 1207 and bipartisan support at that. Maybe it is time to start listening to Ron Paul?

The Hypocrisy Of Politicking

Politics is a funny business. What goes around, usually comes around. What is interesting isn't that this is the case, it is how it is spun to perceive a different case.

In 2002, Democrats destroyed the nomination of a Republican to the U.S. Court of Appeals. The filibuster of Miguel Estrada was monumental and historic. He would have been a stepping stone away from becoming the first Hispanic nominated to the Supreme Court. Now, those same Democrats are riding the bandwagon of being responsible for nominating the first Hispanic to the Supreme Court. They are also attacking any Republican who threatens to block that nomination. Can you say hypocritical?

Although it is from a left perspective, here is a link to commentary that sheds some light on the subject.

Organizing For A New World Order

Today, President Barrack Hussein Obama addressed the Muslim World. He did so quoting the Koran, emphasizing his middle name and using an Islamic greeting.

During the campaign, candidate Obama distanced himself as much as possible from his Muslim background. He even played up a claim that his grandmother was a Christian. The same grandmother that is currently planning a trip to Mecca, something that is forbidden to Christians. (Robert Spencer claimed on The Wilkow Majority. SiriusXM. Patriot Channel 144. 4 Jun. 2009.).

During the campaign, anyone that mentioned Obama's middle name was demonized and attacked. It was a forbidden word that his opponent would not mention. Obama himself would not even say it, addressing it as having a "funny name".

Since the Inauguration, the President's middle name is no longer off limits. Today, it was being used to encourage a group of people and validate who a man was trying to be.

The President has brought his community organizing tactics to the World stage. Saul Alinsky would be proud of him. The question is, will the history behind these Muslim states change under these methods or will it ignite into something far worse than we have ever seen. Unfortunately, it looks like we will have to wait around to find out.

Did President Obama validate Al Qaeda's propaganda machine?...

Cali Voters Say No To Libonomics

For once, liberal agenda in California failed miserably. Already experiencing tax hikes on everything in the state, voters said no to paying higher taxes. The rejection of this proposal now forces the California legislature to figure out a different strategy for fixing its economic woes. Instead of following the liberal model of tax and spend, they will have to cut budgets and become fiscally responsible.

Now, maybe, the rest of the country will get the picture.

Reap What You Sow

Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi has made her bed and now has to lie in it. She has spun a web of lies and can't seem to find her way out. Today, she held a press conference to accuse the CIA of lying to Congress about the use of enhanced interrogation techniques. Her stories get better each day.

Madam Speaker, who is the one lying?

Video of her shakey, stuttering account of the CIA lies:

Karl Rove: Nancy Pelosi was an accomplice to 'torture.'

08 May 2009

Nancy Nancy Nancy

Speaker Pelosi has led the crusade against torture. She has done so ever since it was convenient to do so. She has acted disgusted that the Bush administration used enhanced interrogation techniques, now labled torture by leftists. She has said that she did not know these methods were being deployed.

Just last week, she stood firmly and claimed that she was briefed that enhanced interrogation existed but that she did not know it would be used. Really? Are citizens supposed to believe that The Speaker was told about a hypothetical situation that would never, ever be used? Or, are we supposed to believe that we have someone speaking out of both sides of their mouths?

Intelligence memorandums paint a much different story than Pelosi does. They clearly state that she did know. Pelosi, a member of the Intelligence Committee at the time, says that she did not know that these methods would be used. She has though, finally admitted that she was told that things like waterboarding were ways that could possibly be used to extract information. In other words, Pelosi would have us believe that she was briefed about something that was not going on but might go on but would not go on. Yeah, I'm confused too.

Here is video of her last week. Notice how defensive she is and how she says that she does not talk about what goes on in intelligence meetings but proceeds to talk about what goes on in intelligence meetings.

Line By Line With A Scalpel

In light of the spending spree Washington has been on, there is good news. Many campaign promises have been broken but one is being kept. Well, sort of.

On the trail, Mr. Obama vigilantly stated that he would go through the budget, line by line. He swore to cut waste and get the government back on track. It was the Hope and Change voters wanted.

Many have been scratching their heads since the new administration took the helm. Now they can see clearly. The President has decided to pull his scalpel out and cut the budget. $17 billion worth. The leftist will praise this President for being so thrifty. Truth be told, it needs to be done.

But, is 1/2 of 1% of the budget really doing anything or is it all just an attempt to divert our attention?

Environmentalists Find New Way To Attack Navy

Inflatable rafts and paint cans have become outdated artillery in the war against the U.S. Navy. The days of blocking warships by crazy environmentalists just may be over. Instead of manning fire hoses, the Navy now has to lawyer up to protect itself from the radical left.

When the Supreme Court goes back in session, they will be hearing a case that the Navy violated environmental laws with its sonar training program. The Navy was charged with conducting preparedness training exercises without the proper environmental approvals. The operations were deemed absolutely necessary to make sure the Navy was ready to perform its job.

If you read the environmental sights, you will see a common theme of how terrible sonar is. According to them, many marine mammals die from the operations the Navy conducts off the coast of Southern California. Sounds unfortunate but is misleading. Actually, the animals are normally only temporarily stunned. Most just turn and swim the other way. There has been no factual information that the training exercises kill numerous marine mammals. The Navy actually goes to great pains to ensure the animals are as safe as possible.

In other words, some wackos out there believe that fish swimming in another direction is more outrageous than our military being able to protect us.

Number Crunching

Numbers, numbers and more numbers. We sure have been hearing a lot about numbers these days. Everything from how much debt we are racking up to what amount we threw away on saving companies that went bankrupt anyway.

Here's a number for you to ponder...

1,529,635,000.

What could it be?

Daily national debt? Nope. The number of times Gibbs has said "uh" or "um" since becoming Press Secretary? Nope. Amount of hair plugs in Biden's head? Nope. Number of illegal aliens running freely across the border with Swine Flu? Nope. Pixels in the teleprompter that is running the country? Nope. Nope, not the number of gallons of fuel Air Force One has burned on joy rides for campaign contributors either.

It is though, the number of rounds of ammunition that were sold in the month before the new President was sworn into office. If that does not tell you something, nothing will.

World Net Daily: Guns Bought This Year Could Outfit 2 Armies

He Has His Hands Full

Man has long been perplexed by the opposite sex and their affinity for footwear. Many years ago a closet was a closet. Now, a closet is its own room. Shoes are to blame. The trend has shifted slightly but has always stayed focused on one goal. She who hath the most amount and the most expensive shoes wins.

It should come at no great surprise that the First Lady would buy into this gender specific orientation. It was probably coded into her genetics and passed down from mother to daughter. So be it. If you can afford to throw money at shoes, go for it.

Unfortunately though, there really should be some sort of protocol for wearing a $540 pair of sneakers while volunteering at a food bank. Yes she did. Between Joe Biden and Michelle Obama, the President really has his hands full.

Is TOTUS The Real POTUS?

Mary Katharine Ham appeared on The O'Reilly Factor last night. She is a republican blogger and mentioned an underground term that has received zero mainstream attention thus far. She did so with a smirk that indicates her amusement and familiarity on the topic.

Ann Coulter was on Hannity tonight and said she could not imagine that this same term was really the President of the United States, indicating a behind-the-scenes speculation.

That term was TOTUS. What is TOTUS you ask? Well, it is believed in the right wing conspiracy circles that TOTUS is the real POTUS. POTUS stands for President Of The United States and TOTUS stands for something rather curious. TOTUS or Teleprompter Of The United States is suspected of really running the show.

Congratulations goes out to Barack Obama's Teleprompter's Blog for hitting it big.

Video of what happens when TOTUS leaves POTUS to handle things on his own: (warning-there is a bad word or two in the language describing the video)

Right Wing Bloggers Stand On Principles

Last night on the O'Reilly Factor, it was discussed as to if the crazy right wing bloggers were reporting on Joe Biden's daughter's alleged cocaine usage video. It was determined that, for the most part, everyone was leaving it alone. It was in stark contrast to the ridiculous attacks by the left wing on Bristol Palin, including fabricating stories. There seems to be quite a difference between the right and the left.

Know why that is? Because conservatives stand on principles. They believe that the children of political figures should be off limits. Too bad the other side has no principles.

Paris Hilton shows why a mind is a terrible thing to waste:

Oops, He Did It Again

Oops, Joe Biden did it again. TheDailySoupSandwich can't seem to keep up with our beloved Vice President. Today he appeared on The Today Show and said that he would advise his family against flying or using public transportation (because of the Swine Flu). It only took 2 hours for his office to issue an apology. Apparently, the airline industry didn't take too well to the VP suggesting economic doom for them was a good idea.

Biden telling everyone to boycott airlines and public transportation:

Something fun to watch:

Something even more fun to watch (WH Press Secretary being questioned about Biden):

Hey, Gibbs, Biden specifically said that "it's not just going to Mexico, it's confined spaces".

Wait, it gets better:

Infomercial Praises Bush...But

President Obama praises Bush Administration during 100 day infomercial. This marks an interesting day in his presidency. For the past 100 days, not once has the new President had anything good to say about the former administration. As a matter of fact, he has done nothing but blame them and used them as an excuse.

Obama said that President Bush did a good job in stockpiling Tamiflu in case of an epidemic. Tamiflu, by chance, happens to be what is prescribed for the Swine Flu. Congratulations to Obama for finally giving some credit where credit is due.

But, and there is a but. Obama just couldn't thank the former President. He had to say that he worked with the Bush Administration to obtain more Tamiflu.

Number 44 Batting 100

The 44th President Of The United States, Barack Obama will hit the milestone of 100 days in office tomorrow. No doubt, he will be celebrating with Wagyu beef, Cuban cigars and, of course, an infomercial.

In the spirit of our new entitlement society, TheDailySoupSandwich would like to thank POTUS (President Of The United States for those of you who live underground) for participating in this pasttime. In this great new world, there is no last place. There are no grades of "F". There are only pats on the back, despite how you perform. Of course, there are two different ways to look at how Obama did through this trying time.

You could say that he played a good game on his way to the 100 day mark. He remained popular and deserves praise. He finished second, only to the great Bill Clinton. Heck, liberals will take that any day.

Or, you could call it like it is and say that his 56% for the month of April is the second lowest approval rating since the 100 day polling began in 1969. That means he struck out against such pitchers as "The Evil W.", "The Peanut Farmer" and "Tricky Dick". In other words, Obama is less liked and considered to be worse than every other President except Clinton at this inning of the game.

Good job! Keep up the good work!

Arlen Specter Defects To Socialism

Pennsylvania voters were disenfranchised today when Senator Arlen Specter defected from the Republican Party to the Democratic Party. This should be no surprise since he was never really a Republican anyway. The move puts Democrats one vote away from total World domination.

He will be running in the 2010 Democratic Primaries. Pennsylvanians need to unite and stand up against this kind of treachery.

Click here to contact Specter (which by the way, the site was crashing from traffic a minute ago) and tell him how displeased you are with his flip flop.

Be Kind, Rewind

That gosh darn teleprompter struck again. Technology backfired on the most technologically advanced President in history. Like most Americans, the President has become too reliant on these advances of modern wonder. What ever happened to 3x5 note cards anyway?

TheDailySoupSandwich has uncovered the Obama stuttering problem. It could actually be a result of textspeak. He has evolved into a world of texting which does not include normal human conversation. The transition between the two may be causing the issue.

Funny stuff: About That Speech

The incriminating video:

Note: the video is missing the start of the speech which TheDailySoupSandwich feels is the most important part. Obama is thanking people there. He is casually thanking a John, does not give the last name and then transitions into speech mode. The teleprompter, or Obama, obviously jumped ahead. What was so amazing was how he started delivering his signature speech style immediately after he said the name John.

Fox Network Just Says No

The Fox Network, not FoxNews has declined the President's self love special on Wednesday. Once again, biased media outlets try to skew a story to paint the picture they want you to see. They have been reporting Fox refused to air it, which was a deliberate attempt to make people think FoxNews did it.

By the way, the reason the Fox Network declined to air the circus stunt was because it costs them about $2 million dollars out of pocket to do so.

Pork Stew, Swine Flu and Golfing Blues

ABC News reports that President Obama lost at golf yesterday. While the President was fooling around on a golf course, the World faces a potential pandemic. The former President Bush was dragged through the ringer for playing golf while a war was going on. Now, there is always time for a round of golf. Especially when you only have two wars, an economic crisis, nuclear proliferation and a pandemic going on.

Then again, what is Obama to do? He probably needed to get out of the hair of The Mean Team he has assembled to spin the Swine Flu outbreak as Bush policy failure.

Seriously though. Swine flu is nothing new. Congress has been suffering a swine flu of pork barrel spending for months.

The Mean Team

TheDailySoupSandwich officially declares Obama Administration The Mean Team.

You heard it here first...the Obama Administration and its radical allies are now officially coined The Mean Team. The daily soup sandwich of an operation has officially earned this credit. Their apparent lack of ability to say anything nice about anyone they disagree with, take credit for any mistake they make and need to bash the former administration is why they have been delegated this term.

In honor of the rising unemployment rates, there is now a government employment requisition for a costume seamstress.

The Mean Team Starting Line Up:

The School Choice Hypocracy

Politicians are a rare breed of human beings. They have the innate ability to look you right in the eyes, tell you what you need to do and then do the complete opposite behind your back.

The verdict is in. Some of the same people against private school vouchers actually attended private school and/or send their kids to private schools.

Democrats Come Out Of The Closet On Cap And Trade

In the land of liberal misconception, Democrats were sent from the heavens to battle the evil Republicans from destroying the planet. In reality, this mythological fable is as far from the truth as it gets. Finally, the wolf takes off the sheep skin and reveals what he really is.

Rational thought would dictate that cap and trade is only a mask to hiding the real agenda. It is a tax. A really big one.

This tax does little to help the planet, although being lauded as our savior. If the U.S. enforces limiting carbon emissions, is it really going to do any good if other countries are not following suit? Actually, what this situation will create is the need for businesses to buy carbon credits in order to survive. Those carbon credits will come from a black market. That black market will, inevitably, become a fund for corruption and terroristic activity.

Democrat calls it what it is:

Fair Versus Free Shenanigans

Politicians have carefully worded everything they say since the dawn of time. It is nothing new and nothing that is a surprise. The strange thing is that ordinary people seem to forget this and buy into the rhetoric.

The ultimate politician is guilty of this to a T. It is very easy to point out and identify. Some feel Obama is suffering Bushism disease with his stuttering and uh, uh, uhs. It is quite the contrary. This is a smart, well spoken guy who delivers an amazing speech. So, what is going on?

It is simple. He is obviously searching for the word he thinks we want to hear versus the word that is on the tip of his tongue. Freudian Slip? Maybe. He has been caught with a few slip ups that reveal his true thoughts.

Why people are buying this is what is amazing. Has everyone not learned the easiest way to tell when a politician is lying? Their lips are moving.

Besides the stuttering, there is also the lack of content and the deliberate action of not answering a question. After all, it is not lying if you just don't answer the question. He should be judged on what he says. He should also be watched carefully for what he does not say.

Former President Clinton was the master of using trick words. President Obama seems to be a good student of this philosophy as well. One example is the use of the term fair versus using free.

It is no secret that Obama favors a more socialistic approach to the government. Remember when he told Joe the Plumber that he thinks we ought to spread the wealth around? Since taking office, he has already taken control of the banks, the car industry, the credit card companies and is working on health care. After all, that is fair. Right? Fair market means that he thinks the government should intervene to level the playing field whenever he sees fit. Free market means that businesses compete and duke it out with winners and losers. When Obama says fair, realize that he does not say free.

Obama telling working folks how it is:

Americans Still Fear Big Government Most

Gallup Poll still shows that Americans fear big government more than big business and big labor. 55% picked big government, 32% big business and 10% big labor, in response to what they fear the most.

80% of Republicans said that big government was the biggest threat. Meanwhile, Democrats shifted since the 2006 poll. They moved from big government to big business as their biggest fear. This, despite the massive expansion of the federal government.

Obama Claims That Constitution Is A Failure

Audio from 2001 interview with State Senator Obama:

Your Durban Is Dirty

Psychopathic Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad excoriated President Obama for his boycott of the Durban racism conference. At a time when Obama is the new face of coming together and putting race related issues behind us, the United States had to make the tough choice to pull a no show.

The reality is, though, that the purpose of the conference was completely nullified when Ahmadinejad turned it into a racist tirade against Israel. The Obama administration made the right call.
